Twice a year, HAL offers an exclusive Masterclass for a select group of Master students. This challenging two-day event provides an opportunity to become better acquainted with the investment industry and in particular HAL’s fundamental approach to investing.
In a highly interactive and challenging setting, you will get a taste of investment strategy, valuation techniques and deal negotiations. Cases range from leveraged buy-outs and public-to-private transactions to buy & build acquisition strategies.
The event is led by two senior members of the investment team in cooperation with Professor Smit from the Erasmus University. They will share their perspective on developments in the investment industry, including transactions concluded by HAL.
The Masterclass is intended for high-potential students (Dutch-speaking) with a strong quantitative orientation (from various academic backgrounds) and an interest in business.

Once a year, HAL Investments offers outstanding Bachelor and Master students (Dutch-speaking) an exclusive inside perspective into its daily investment practice.
In a challenging one-day session, a select group of motivated students with strong quantitative skills is taken through a high pressure simulation game, based directly on an actual transaction concluded by HAL. The event is led by members of the HAL Investments team.
